The most urban of all Auto-Pédestres: this loop of just over six kilometres crosses the capital, linking the upper town with the green Pétrusse and Alzette valleys. Few European capitals can be experienced as a hike quite like this — cliff faces, riverbanks and parks right in the centre.
Along the way you pass the remains of the old fortress; the old quarters and fortifications have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1994. The view from the Bock promontory and from the Corniche down into the Grund is among the most famous panoramas in the country.
The route is short but includes stairways and climbs between valley and upper town. You can shorten it at any point or stretch it with café stops — and it is the only Auto-Pédestre fully reachable by city bus, tram and train.
