Insenborn lies on the shore of the Upper Sûre lake, Luxembourg's largest body of water and the heart of the natural park of the same name. This loop explores the slopes and forests above the lake, whose fjord-like arms cut deep into the Éislek landscape.
The reservoir is also the country's most important drinking-water source — much of Luxembourg drinks water from here. At the same time it is the north's favourite summer swimming spot, with official bathing zones near Insenborn among others.
Along the way, lake views, quiet forest passages and open meadow slopes take turns. In summer you can combine the hike with a swim or a trip on the natural park's solar-powered boat.
